Sport Coaching Position Statements
SHAPE America's Position: coaches at all levels possess a minimum level of coaching education and hold appropriate certifications in order to effectively meet the changing needs of the athlete.

SHAPE America's Position: Prior to the start of each season, all high school head coaches, assistant coaches, and volunteer coaches should be required to participate in a comprehensive orientation to the sport program.
SHAPE America's Position: No individual may be discriminated against on the basis of sex in any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance (62 Federal Register 12038).
