All SHAPE America webinars are 1 hour long. Participants will earn a certificate of 1.0 contact hour with each webinar they view.

"Action research" is a form of practitioner-based research that offers guidance for all of the above steps. The goal of this webinar is to show how teachers can utilize action research to: (a) connect practice and theory; (b) improve quality of assessments; (c) and rethink the teacher evaluation process. Teachers will gain insight into steps for getting started with both individual and cooperative action research.

Implementing Disability Sports in the Physical Education Curriculum

Description: This webinar introduces participants to disability/paralympic sports and how they can be included in a physical education curriculum or used as an extracurricular sporting opportunity for both disabled and non-disabled students. The session will begin with a discussion on the Paralympics and the opportunities they afford for developing critical thinking skills on difference and diversity in students. Class materials will include lesson plans that break down the skills and illustrate modified games and assessments to measure learning. Boccia, sit volleyball and goalball will be the primary sports introduced.
