Speaker: Mary Connolly, Program Chair, Health and Family & Consumer Science, Cambridge College
Date and Time: Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time
Description: With classroom time so precious, why not identify student need and target health instruction? In this webinar, you learn to use backward design to plan assessment and instruction based on student need. After analyzing youth risk behavior data, we'll select performance indicators from the National Health Education Standards and infuse them with content. From there, we'll use the power of the indicator verbs to inform assessment and instruction, design a prompt and a challenge, then design an authentic summative assessment. By the end of the webinar, you'll have the framework of a skills-based unit.
