All SHAPE America webinars are 1 hour long. Participants can request a certificate of 1.0 contact hour with each webinar they view.
Each webinar in the 2015 and 2016 SHAPE America "By You for You" webinar series is provided to SHAPE America members free of charge as a member benefit. Non-members can also access the webinars in this series for a fee of $19.96.

What Did You Learn Today? The Content of Elementary Physical Education

Description: This webinar will focus on curriculum for elementary physical education and the selection of that content. It will discuss the differences between activities and skill acquisition within curriculum, the differences between a "busy, happy, good" curriculum and teaching for student growth in physical education. It will lead the participant into the design of curriculum with deliberate practice, feedback, etc. for student learning, and will also include a microscope for evaluating activities before selecting them for physical education. With reference to the grade-level outcomes within SHAPE America's National Standards, participants will develop the strategy for matching outcomes to the reality of teaching environments.

Confident Me! A Free Middle School Self-Esteem Program

Our presentation will explain caring in sport coaching and its connection to the National Standards for Sport Coaches, provide participants with reflective tools and strategies for fostering a caring sport environment throughout the athletic season, and discuss how a caring coach might navigate discipline issues.
