Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, is a bimonthly journal offered by SHAPE America. Its articles address the everyday needs of physical and sport educators in the gymnasium or on the athletic field, and its readers make up a highly focused audience of teachers, coaches, and administrators in search of ideas that can be put to use immediately. Articles in the journal are written in a brief, easy-to-read, ready-to-use format, focusing on specific activities, and often include equipment lists and resources. Strategies readers are also directly in line to specify equipment, product and publication purchases for their schools/districts.
This peer-reviewed journal provides information to:
- Help health, physical educators and coaches become more effective professionals.
- Promote awareness of a diversity of issues in health, physical and sport education.
- Facilitate understanding of the social, physical and intellectual aspects of motor performance and physical fitness.
- Identify, discuss and analyze current issues and/or trends of importance to the health, physical education and sport-related professions.
The journal's acceptance rate hovers around 35% and it publishes over 35 articles per year as well as invited content dealing with advocacy and translating theory into practice.
The mission of Strategies is to provide information, identify resources and suggest strategies for professional practice in health and physical education, coaching and motor skill acquisition.

Articles may be submitted as a contribution to the profession; no remuneration can be made.
