As the fiscal and operational year comes to an end, ASAHPERD is celebrating another successful year. The spring has been busy with the annual Spring Conference in Orange Beach that was preceded by a dynamic Future Professionals Leadership Workshop. Justin Wiley, FP President, and Sandra Sims, FP Advisor, planned an outstanding day that combined activity and learning, and ended with the donation of backpacks to a local school. Special guest speakers included Southern District Past President Charity Bryan, along with Wanda Hargroder and Kathy Hill from LSU.

The Spring Conference provided 1-1/2 days of current topics ranging from Integrating and Applying Technology to Sweat Science. The month of May brought our Leadership Workshop, where we transitioned to the 2018-19 Board of Directors. President Ginger Aaron Brush presented her theme for the year — “Stronger Together.” Strategic planning objectives for advocacy and diversification of membership and services were developed and strategies are underway.
