SCAHPERD’s FP held their first annual Professional Development Workshop in April with six universities being represented. Chip Candy, former NASPE Middle School Teacher of the Year, and Kendra Wallace, principal of Joseph Sears School in Illinois, were the keynote presenters.

The SCAHPERD advocacy committee is working tirelessly to oppose a proposed bill allowing marching band to substitute for the physical education credit in high school. Many SCAHPERD members have been involved in this effort to thwart the legislation.

The 2018 SCAHPERD Annual Conference will be November 9-11 in Myrtle Beach. Our keynote speaker is Coach Sue Ramsey, D-II Coach of the Year, National Championship Coach, Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, to name a few of her accolades. Come join us and engage in outstanding professional development, including sessions led by Coach Ramsey, network with educators, and participate in fun, social activities while doing this all at the BEACH!
