Introducing the Five Winners of the Skillastics Physical Activity Grant

 

After analyzing hundreds of applications, we have selected our Skillastics Physical Activity Grant winners.  Thank you to everyone who participated.  It was very difficult to choose from all of the wonderful responses.

Moira Brookshire

Hudson Elementary, Hudson, NC

 

Her vision for enhancing CSPAP is focused on the classroom.  Her goal is to implement Be Fit 2 Learn Skillastics Math in the classroom and increase the number of students engaged in physical activity while increasing mathematical knowledge.

 

Moira attended SHAPE America for the first time last year and is extremely excited to be attending again this year as a Skillastics Physical Activity Grant winner!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Trena Jayne

Hamilin Middle, Springfield, OR

 

Her vision for enhancing CSPAP is focused on physical activity during the school day. Her goal is to train the middle school faculty on implementing physical activity breaks using a variety of Skillastics resources  in and outside of the classroom.

 

Trena has attended SHAPE America in the past but considers attending SHAPE America as the best opportunity EVER to network and learn from like-minded people, plus discover new products and innovations that will promote student achievement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Michael Lansdowne

Hutchison Farm Elementary, Chantilly, VA

 

His vision for enhancing CSPAP is focused on during school and beyond.  His goal is to implement STUDENT-Lead activities with Skillastics Activity Kits being the key resource component.  He envisions his 5th Grade Skillastics Team Leading in-class physical activity breaks, staff professional developments, conferences, and so much more.

 

This is Michael's first time attending SHAPE America National Convention and feels having this opportunity to attend SHAPE America and learn from some of the best in the field of Physical Education is a dream come true!

 

 

 

 

Christy Scott

Elm Grove Elementary, Elm Grove, LA

 

Her vision for enhancing CSPAP is focused on physical activity during the school day.  Her goal includes implementing Skillastics Clubs throughout the school, including after lunch and during recess to keep Elm Grove students physically active throughout the school day.

 

This is Christy's first time attending SHAPE America.  She is extremely excited to attend the SHAPE  America National Convention to network and learn new ideas from fabulous Physical Education Specialists, and implement the latest innovative ideas to help expand the Physical Education program at Elm Grove Elementary.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sara Wood

Elias Howe Elem. - PS 51, New York, NY

 

Her vision for enhancing CSPAP is focused on family engagement.  Her goal is to strengthen student and family physical activity by hosting a Skillastics community night for each grade level, allowing families to experience Skillastics together.

 

This is Sara's first time attending SHAPE America National Convention and is so excited to CONNECT and learn from so many incredible PE teachers at SHAPE America.
