Special Interest Groups

SHAPE America’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) give members with similar professional specialties the opportunity to stay current on key areas in health and physical education.

By adding a SIG to your member profile you can:

  • stay current on the latest trends in your field of interest
  • connect with members through Exchange - SHAPE America's member-only online community
  • meet at events, including SHAPE America's National Convention & Expo
  • serve in volunteer leadership roles within the SIG

There are currently 11 SIGs to choose from:

  • College and University Instructional PA Programs
  • CSPAP Research
  • Curriculum & Instruction
  • Diversity & Inclusiveness
  • Education Based Employee Wellness
  • Health & PE District and State Administration
  • Measurement & Evaluation
  • National Board Certified Teachers

  • Retirees
Select your SHAPE America SIG
SIGs are a free benefit of membership in SHAPE America and there is no limit to the number of SIGs each member can choose.

To make your SIG selections:

  • Log in to your member profile
  • Click on "My Profile" page
  • Choose the "Interest Area" tab. Special Interest Groups will be listed first on the page.
  • Click the pencil next to the special interest group section and select any SIG that you would like to join and click save.
