As the nation’s largest membership organization of health and physical education professionals, SHAPE America – Society of Health and Physical Educators knows the importance of active schools. Since being founded in 1885, we have defined excellence in physical education, and our National Standards for K-12 Physical Education serve as the foundation for well-designed physical education programs across the country.
As a founding partner of Let’s Move! Active Schools (now Active Schools), we helped to educate a network of tens of thousands of champions and members to ensure that 60 minutes of physical activity a day is the norm in K-12 schools across the country.
Our mission is to help schools access best practices, programs, and resources to increase physical education and physical activity opportunities for students.
