Kentucky AHPERD is excited to be equipping our teachers with the implementation phase of the Every Student Succeeds Act for the 2018-2019 school year. Health, physical education and other whole child measures are all included for data collection and tracking for all schools in the state because of the state’s approved ESSA plan.

The KAHPERD summer conference will be June 13-14 in Owensboro, KY. It will feature sessions by SHAPE America Midwest District Health Teacher of the Year Cassie Brooks, Southern District Middle School PE Teacher of the Year Angela Stark, and OPEN trainer Daniel Tennessan. The KAHPERD annual fall convention will be November 11-13 in Lexington, KY. Keynote sessions are planned by SHAPE America Southern District President Brian Devore and Jessica Lawrence of Cairn Guidance.
