Undergraduate Student Research Award

The recipient(s) of the Undergraduate Student Research Award will be selected from among the abstracts accepted under the Research Program for the SHAPE America National Convention program. The award is intended to recognize and encourage undergraduate student scholarship. Contenders for this award are limited to the accepted Research Council convention abstracts submitted by undergraduate students indicating an interest in the award.

The recipient shall:
Eligibility
  • Be a current member of SHAPE America.
  • The undergraduate student must be first author and presenter and must have completed the research while an undergraduate student. Undergraduate students who authored the top rated accepted abstracts will be selected as the winner of the Undergraduate Student Research Award.

Award Selection

To have an abstract considered for the Research Undergraduate Student Award, the first/primary author must be enrolled in or no longer than one calendar year past graduation from the undergraduate degree program in which the study was conducted and must be the primary presenter at the Convention.

An abstract will be considered for this award only if the submitter clicks on the box indicating "Yes, please consider this abstract for the Undergraduate Student Award. I am/was an undergraduate student at the time this research was completed, am the primary author and will personally present the research."

All formatting requirements described in this call for proposals apply to abstracts competing for the Undergraduate Student Award. Note that symposia (including subabstracts) are not eligible.
