The 2024 SHAPE America Summer Institute will be held in Minneapolis, July 29-30. Mark your calendar now for this two-day event, where you will learn new teaching strategies and classroom management techniques, discover new technologies to improve instruction and student engagement in HPE, and explore how to integrate new standards-based concepts in your HPE classes to keep students healthy and thriving.

SHAPE America’s all-new professional learning experience (PLE) was created to help health and physical educators prioritize social and emotional learning (SEL). This PLE includes four live meetings, and combines high-quality professional development with enrollment in a private professional learning community (PLC).

In this two-part, workshop-style webinar series, participants will learn more about social and emotional learning (SEL) in physical education from Paul M. Wright and Kevin Andrew Richards, co-authors of the book Teaching Social and Emotional Learning in Physical Education.

SHAPE America’s Professional Learning Institutes (PLI) are ideal for educators looking to refine and advance in their profession. Every PLI covers a variety of topics and concentrations and is designed for health and PE professionals, including program administrators, teacher educators, trainers, teachers, and researchers. In lieu of a PETE/HETE Conference, this year’s SHAPE America National Convention & Expo will feature a Higher Education Professional Preparation Summit on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, as well as a dedicated track of Professional Preparation sessions throughout the event.
