Modifying Team Sports to Include Children With Disabilities
This webinar introduces participants to several different approaches to modifying team sports to include students with disabilities in general physical education. The approaches include differentiated instruction (giving all students different options in how they receive information and how they demonstrate understanding and knowledge of concepts and content), universal design for learning (using the same environment and activities for all individuals without adaptation or specially designed equipment), the STEP Model (modifying space, task, equipment and people), and the Games Design Model (analyzing and modifying objects, players, organization, movements and limits).
