Location: Convention Center, Exhibit Hall - Activity Area 1 Details: The Capshaw Jump Rope team is made up of 21 members who are in the 4th grade. Their coach is Ashley Jay who is the physical education teacher at Capshaw Elementary. The members are chosen at the beginning of the school year based on their jump rope skills. They have performed at Cookeville Christmas Parade, Cookeville High School basketball games, Tennessee Tech Univerisity basketball games, and at other elementary schools.

Description: Long rope and double Dutch activities promote teamwork, communication, cooperation and creativity — in addition to the many physical benefits. Plus, these activities are fun and extremely inclusive, including those students who require adaptive programming. Single long rope, double Dutch, egg beater, rainbow, triangles and other group long rope activities will be experienced in this workshop. These activities transition easily to playground and community settings.

Description: Jumping rope is one of the most versatile physical exercises available and is an excellent way to support sports training for lifelong activity. This fast-paced "train the trainer" workshop will provide attendees with the tools to teach single rope jump rope skills and drills that will support the improvement of power, speed, strength, agility and coordination. Modifications to promote inclusivity will be taught.

Location: Convention Center, Ballroom A & B Details: Lakeside Elite is a performance jump rope team from Hendersonville, TN. Lakeside Elite performs at halftime of high school & college basketball games, school assemblies, and other events across the middle TN area. Lakeside Elite, coached by Shawn Kring, is completing its 15th year & consists of 1st through 8th graders.

Attendees will receive ideas to bolster their events and increase their reach.
