SHAPE America Research Council Newsletter

Winter 2024

Greetings!

I hope you are having a restful winter break before the spring semester begins! Since the last newsletter, the Research Council has been working with the SHAPE America staff, program councils, and special interest groups (SIGs) to plan for the upcoming , to be held March 12-16 in Cleveland. We have facilitated reviews of abstracts, made selections for various scholar lectures and awards, and worked with staff to organize the research components of the convention program.

In addition to convention preparations, we were excited to connect with our community through two virtual events, which are highlighted below. Both events were well attended, with active engagement between the attendees and presenters. Currently, the Research Council is reviewing applications for council volunteers, the Research Fellow program, and the Thomas L. McKenzie Research Award.

Hopefully we will connect with you at #SHAPECleveland. For those who are attending the convention, please join us at the following Research Council events: McCloy Lecture and Distinguished Service Award, Weiss Lecture, Siedentop Lecture, Research Council Social, Coffee Talks, and the Graduate Student Forum.

If you are not planning to attend the convention, we hope this newsletter is a useful resource to you for staying connected and getting involved with the Research Council!
